The City of Chandler operates under a Council-Manager form of government established by the city’s charter. The Mayor and Council are elected by the citizens and have numerous responsibilities including making policy, passing ordinances (codes), and approving budgets. They also appoint the city manager who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day administration of city services and implementing council policies.
